As with all of our different types of printed vinyl stickers, we have a variety of printing processes available. Unlike many other sticker printing companies, our choice of production always allows us to calculate the most economical and suitable way of printing your clear stickers. This product page relates to digitally printed transparent stickers. These stickers are printed using eco-friendly solvent inks, using high-resolution CMYK digital printing technology. These sticker printers are best priced for short-run sticker printing. If you require large runs please review our screen printed sticker products and services. Screen printing is more economical over longer production runs.
How are transparent stickers made?
To make a transparent sticker, firstly you need to look at the artwork to identify the areas that will remain clear / see through, the areas that on the material are to get no print.
Using your artwork the studio team will then create separate layers:
The information from the 2 layers, is then sent to the printer and the images are created.
Why does a transparent sticker need a white underpin?
If you print the ink directly onto the transparent vinyl without a white underpin, then the sticker is not 100% opaque, the ink is translucent. The easiest way to demonstrate this is with stained glass images, whilst the glass is coloured it is not a solid colour and the depth of the colour in the glass depends on where it is positioned. Only when it is placed against a white background does the colour become less translucent.

**Jobs requiring an area of white print or a white underpin should be supplied in an editable vector format. This is due to the specific processes involved with printing digitally with white ink. Additional artwork charges may apply if we have to create or manipulate custom shaped areas for printing with white ink.**
