Large Custom Sticker Printing
With over 30 years of experience, we’ve produced over sized and large waterproof stickers for brands and organisations through the UK
We design and print large sized stickers and decals of every description, size, quantity, shape and colour.
Our stickers are printed on a range of self adhesive vinyls, and are designed for extended use in all conditions. Being entirely waterproof, our stickers, labels and decals are suitable for use in extreme conditions and are resistant to sea water, petroleum, cleaning fluids, bleaches and many other common chemicals.
Our large sized stickers are either screenprinted or digitally printed, dependent on the end use intended.
Screenprinting is by far the most suitable process to produce long lasting vibrant pantone matched colours, and for large quantities of printed stickers. Screenprinting is the only way to produce punchy fluorescent dayglo colours, as well as metallic tints.
Digital printing is ideal for full colour cymk print jobs, where artwork is supplied containing coloured logos, images and coloured graphics. Digital printing can produce low print quantities very economically, as there isn’t any print set up costs that come with the other printing processes.
For extended outdoor use, Permanent adhesive stickers are by far the most popular choice.
Some surfaces require Supertack or High Grab adhesive stickers. Although these stickers don’t last any longer than those with Permanent adhesive, they are ‘stickier’, and have a greater initial adhesion. This is useful in situations where the surface onto which the sticker will be stuck isn’t perfectly smooth, and also highly plasticised surfaces, such as plastic barrels, drums and the like.
For promotional and short term uses, we offer Low Tack and Removable sticky backed options. These are still as waterproof and hardwearing as Permanent type stickers, but are easier to remove, and don’t leave any residue behind once removed.

How large can printed stickers or decals be?
Stickers or decals can be printed to absolutely any finished size that’s required. Think Bus side advertising, lorry sides ,or printed graphics on trains and aeroplanes.
Of course thought must be given to how the sticker, graphic or decal will be applied and it’s intended end use, whether it’s going to be printed on a solid backing sheet, shaped cut, or made up of individual elements.
Extra large graphics are printed on a roll, and can also be made of several parts if needed, although a lot of labels for machinery and the like, that tend to be printed in larger quantities, are normally printed on sheets.
What is the minimum quantity to order large sized printed vinyl stickers and decals?
With the digital printing process, orders of single or small quantities of large stickers and graphics are now very affordable, as there isn’t any setting up of printing films, screens, printing plates or wasteful machine set ups.
Large format digital printing in full colour is not too dissimilar to the way a normal desk top printer works.
A sheet or roll is fed into the back of the machine, and the artwork or design is delicately sprayed on to the surface as it passes through the printer. With 6 or 8 different coloured ink jets, a full pantone range of colours can be produced, as well as reproducing full colour images, artwork or logos.
How long will printed large format printed stickers or decals last?
Printed stickers are made of three components: The actual printed image, the pvc vinyl film onto which the artwork image is printed, and of course the adhesive layer on the reverse of the vinyl.
For details regarding the printed image and its life expectancy, take a look at the Q & A below.
With regards to the actual piece of pvc vinyl film, the lifespan varies dependant upon which type has been chosen for the sticker.
As with most things, sticky backed pvc vinyls come in a range of different types for different uses.
A standard self adhesive, or Monomeric vinyl is suitable for an outdoor lifespan of 1 to 3 years.
Higher grades of vinyl are chosen for branding and decals that need to give a longer lifespan. These higher grades are called Polymeric, and lifespans of up to 9 years are quoted by their manufacturers.
As mentioned earlier, there is also a selection of differing adhesive, or glues that can be supplied on the back of the sticker.
The common choice is Low Tack, Removable, Permanent or High Tack. Each has its own uses.
Specialist adhesives such as Anti-Vandal can also be chosen, but it’s best to speak to your printer about the use that you are putting your printed stickers to, to be guided in the most suitable material to choose.
Will they fade in the sun?
This very much depends on a variety of factors: the printing process chosen to produce the work, the actual colour of the printed image, as well as other factors such as whether an overlaminate or varnish has been applied to the finished print.
What is the best method of applying large stickers and decals?
Mounting and applying large printed stickers can be troublesome to the inexperienced hand. Once the backing paper has been removed from the adhesive side of the sticker, the trouble can start!
The exposed adhesive glue is now open to airborne dust, hairs, grit and the like, which will be impossible to remove. Added to that, if the sticker folds, creases or bends and touches itself at all, it will be impossible to peel it back apart.
Another potential problem will be surface contamination of the surface onto which you will be mounting the sticker. It is essential that the surface is washed or wiped before starting.
The obvious way to mount a large sticker or graphic would be to peel off the backing paper, and either try and rub it now to the surface either in one go, or from one end.
However, use a couple of tricks of the trade, and things will be a lot less troublesome.Tip 1. Wet the exposed adhesive side of the sticker with a wet rag or hand sprayer with warm water with a squeeze of washing up liquid in it. This temporarily takes away the stickiness of the glue.
Tip 2. Wet the surface onto which the sticker or decal is going to be applied, as in Tip 1.
Tip 3. Position the sticker onto the wet surface, and slide around until you are happy with the position.
Tip 4. Working from the centre of the sticker, carefully work the sticker onto the surface by gently rubbing it down with a damp cloth FROM THE CENTRE OUTWARDS.
Tip 5. You can finish it off using by gently working away any remaining moisture and bubbles with a piece of stiff cardboard or squeegee, again, from the centre outwards.
Tip 6. Wipe away any excess moisture from the edges of the sticker or graphic, and you’re done.
Can large vinyl stickers be printed in pantone matched or RAL colours?
Yes, they can.
If you have a particular colour in mind, it’s often best practice to send an example of the actual colour that you would like to replicate to your sticker printer to match.
Although you may just quote a colour shade reference or pantone pms number, not all printing processes produce the same result, and you may be disappointed that someone’s version of your pantone number looks different to someone else’s.
It’s all about colour calibration of printing machines, the printing process used to print the work, as well as the wide variety of materials that can be printed on, and their effect on the finished print colour. Send a colour swatch or sample. Better to be safe than sorry.

What our customers say...
"We have been supplied quality Vinyl stickers by Screen Print and Display for at least 6 years. Our business started back in the early ‘00’s, and quite a number of other suppliers had been used until we tried Screen Print & Display. Since then we have not need to go anywhere else. Our stickers need to be tough, with a double lamination, and very adhesive, for submerge water use. We can highly recommend Screen Print & Display for quality products, customer service, and cost."
