Printed Hoarding Boards for Malmaison Case Study

Malmaison hoarding board

Brightening up construction site before Malmaison’s 16th hotel opens in York

The UK luxury lifestyle hotel chain Malmaison are opening their 16th hotel in York city centre. To announce the brands arrival and advertise the forthcoming 124 bedrooms and 49 serviced suites, along with protecting passers-by from the ongoing building works, it was decided to surround the development with very vibrant eye-catching printed hoarding board.

Screenprint and Display Ltd were called upon to carry out a site visit, prior to printing the 40 metre stretch of hoarding graphics. The development was not on even ground and it was important to consider this and calculate the gradient of the slope, to ensure the continuity of the printed graphics when they were installed.

The vibrant colours of the Malmaison brand would create a very strong impacting visual to passers-by. It was vital that these colours were replicated on the printed panels.

Large stretches of hoarding boards are created by combining a quantity of Dibond panels, every one of which will have been digitally printed with UV resistant ink (Dibond is an aluminium composite which is both rigid and weatherproof). Each individual sheet measures 2440mm x 1220mm and has a slice of the artwork printed on it. Once printed they are delivered to site where they are fitted together like a large jigsaw creating the overall finished impacting graphic display.

Take a look at some of the pictures shown here to see the impactful results.
