Dibond is trade name for the aluminium composite material (ACM).
No, it is a material that is made up of two sheets of aluminium that surround a polyethylene core. The Dibond panels we use have an aluminium thickness of 0.15mm (+/- tolerances) and a total panel thickness of 3mm.
Yes, the material is designed for outdoor use. It can withstand temperatures as low as -50°C and as high as + 80°C.
The panels of aluminium composite material weigh 3.38Kg/M².
Here at Screenprint & Display we use Dibond mainly for outdoor signage. It is ideal for trail boards and tourist information, but we can print the material with any design to suit your requirements. Our machines print directly onto the surface and then the panels can be cut to size and drilled ready for easy installation if required.
The shape required will affect how the material is cut, if the panels will have straight edges, then we can guillotine these, however if they need to be cut to shape then they would either be die cut or cut with a router.
It’s a material for permanent signage, rather than temporary and is therefore more expensive than more temporary material such as Foamex or Correx.
