Can you remove car window stickers?

We get a lot of people asking us about how to remove car window stickers. So, we’ve put together a guide on how to remove old car window stickers.

Car window stickers are printed on a variety of materials and use a range of different adhesives. This needs to be considered when looking at how to remove them.

Static cling stickers are the simplest type to remove, with no adhesive at all the stickers can simply be peeled off.

Most of the car window stickers that we print are on permanent self-adhesive vinyl. These are not designed to be removed, however it doesn’t mean that they can’t be.

Our advice would be to try gently applying heat (not too much that you melt them). When the adhesive is cold the stickers are likely to be brittle and will break, however if gently warmed the adhesive should soften and this will allow the vinyl to stretch, and it should become possible to remove it from the window. A permanent adhesive sticker is likely to leave behind a residue, this can be removed by using a solvent (suitable for use on the surface material).
