Frequently asked questions:
Do outdoor floor stickers stick to concrete?
Yes. Our outdoor floor stickers are printed on a unique aluminium-based material that conforms to rough surfaces such as concrete, tarmac, brick, and paving. Unlike traditional vinyl, the material moulds to the texture of the surface, creating a strong bond without the need for heat, laminate, or overcoating. Unlike vinyl, Alumigraphics sticks better to rough surfaces.
Are pavement stickers waterproof?
Yes. Our outdoor stickers are fully waterproof and weather-resistant. They can withstand rain, snow, and regular outdoor conditions while maintaining their colour and visibility. Their textured surface also provides slip resistance, making them safe to walk on in both wet and dry conditions.
How long do outdoor floor stickers last?
When applied correctly to a clean, dry surface, the outdoor floor graphics typically last several months in high-traffic outdoor areas and can last even longer in lighter use environments. Their durability makes them ideal for events, retail promotions, or semi-permanent outdoor signage.
Can exterior floor graphics be removed without damage?
Yes. One of the advantages of the aluminium based material is that it is designed to be removable. The stickers can be peeled away from concrete, tarmac, or brick surfaces without leaving behind adhesive residue or damaging the surface underneath. This makes them perfect for temporary campaigns and seasonal promotions.
Are outdoor floor stickers non-slip and safe in the rain?
Yes. AlumiGraphics® is an aluminium-foil, textured, high-friction media designed for exterior walkways (concrete, asphalt, brick). The anti-slip surface is engineered for wet and dry use without needing a separate over-laminate
How do I prep rough concrete before applying graphics?
-
Clean thoroughly – Brush or blow off dust, grit and loose material; for heavy soiling, clean and allow to dry fully.
-
Make sure it’s bone-dry – Moisture in pores will reduce adhesion; apply only when the surface is dry and ambient/surface temp is 10 °C (50 °F) or higher.
-
Press into the texture – After positioning, use a hand roller/squeegee and firm pressure to conform the foil into the concrete profile, especially along edges.
-
Round corners – Radius corners help resist edge-lift on high-traffic sites.
-
Final check – Avoid fresh sealers/paint until fully cured; test a small swatch on unusual surfaces.
These steps follow the manufacturer’s installation guidance for AlumiGraphics® media
Will the stickers leave residue on removal?
Typically, no if they are used on suitable masonry (concrete/asphalt/brick), AlumiGraphics® is designed to peel up cleanly—often without residue or surface damage. On certain high-energy surfaces (e.g., metal, glass, sealed or high-gloss coatings), the bond can be much stronger and some residue may remain; ensure you always test first. If any adhesive traces are left, they can be removed with common cleaners/degreasers or simply allowed to wear away with weather and foot traffic. Peel at a steady angle (about 45°) for easiest removal.
Should I choose Alumigraphics® or Vinyl for my outdoor floor stickers?
AlumiGraphics® vs vinyl outdoors
When graphics must stick on rough, porous ground, AlumiGraphics® is more suitable. Its malleable aluminium foil conforms into the texture of concrete, asphalt and brick, creating a mechanical bond that resists edge-lift. The textured, high-friction face is non-slip in wet or dry conditions—no over-laminate needed. It installs cold with a roller and pressure, and removes cleanly after the campaign. It’s PVC-free and built for UV and rain. (See the video below – Highlighting for how to apply outdoor Alumigraphics stickers).
Conventional vinyl performs brilliantly on smooth, sealed floors and can be used outdoors with the right prep and finishing (e.g., primers, heat, and a slip-laminate). For rough pavements and porous surfaces, AlumiGraphics® is simply the purpose-built choice: it conforms to texture without heat, delivers a high-friction face, and removes cleanly after the campaign. In short, Vinyl suits smooth, sealed floors; AlumiGraphics® is purpose-built for pavements and concrete.
