Southampton Summer Lounge

The Southampton summer lounge is a great example of how to use pavement stickers to enliven a city centre outdoor public space.

The urban outdoor summer lounge was designed, for the historic civic square in Southampton city centre, with a huge bold coloured street rug, temporary seating, and outdoor beach area. The outdoor lounge was created to encourage visitors into the city and assist with the city’s economic recovery.

The urban street rug design was produced using 500mm x 500mm square outdoor pavement stickers, printed in three different colours. The layout of the stickers was inspired “ by the classical columns on the iconic Guildhall building, which overlook the square, creating a pixelated version of the stone detailing.” (https://studiobad.co.uk/projects/summer-lounge/).
