Will vinyl stickers stick to concrete?

21/09/2023

Lots of customers have asked us about whether vinyl stickers will stick to concrete or not.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand for outdoor floor stickers has significantly increased, mainly due to the need to highlight social distancing measures and to create 2m floor markers.

Some of the most frequently asked questions during this time have been “Can you put the stickers on concrete?” and “How do you get vinyl stickers to stick to concrete?”.

The simple answer is “yes”, our stickers can be used outdoors on concrete and asphalt (and even brick). Although our floor stickers are not printed on vinyl, instead they are produced on an aluminium print media, known in the trade as alumigraphics. This product is specifically designed for use on brick, concrete, asphalt, and tiles. It has an anti-slip surface meaning it is ideal for floor stickers.

It is easily applied to the various surfaces; however, it is worth noting that the concrete / asphalt must be completely dry (ideally over 10 degrees) and clean, before the stickers are applied. This will allow the sticker the opportunity to completely adhere to the surface. Once stuck down the floor graphics are waterproof and can cope with the varying British weather conditions.

“How do you remove outdoor pavement stickers?”

So, when the time comes that you want to replace the concrete stickers with new stickers or remove them completely, how easily can they be removed? The alumigraphics print media is easily removed off pavements and outdoor surfaces, simply by peeling it up at a 45-degree angle. It should be removeable without leaving a residue. Check out our removal guide here.
